Welcome to the Home Flooring Pros overview of Masland carpet. Masland has been manufacturing carpets and rugs for over 150 years. The Pennsylvania company makes traditional broadloom carpet in wool and nylon, including a line featuring Stainmaster PetProtect. As well as a full report we will also take a look at typical Masland prices.
SPECS & STYLES
Masland carpet is widely considered a high-end product and features a huge array of colors, patterns, and designs. All products meet the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Green Label Plus requirements. Masland products are available at independent carpet retailers nationwide. Other caret brands in this high-end bracket include Karastan, Fabrica and Tuftex
Wool Carpets: Masland’s line of wool carpet, StrongWool, includes over 50 luxurious styles, many available in multiple colorways. There are more neutral options such as Grantham and Wexford, bold patterns in Alexia and Imari, and even animal print, including Leopard and Zebra. All styles in the StrongWool line are made from 100% all-natural New Zealand wool and manufactured in the United States.
In fact, Masland sources their wool only from farmers that raise their sheep in an ethical manner, which produces a higher quality wool fiber. Masland wool carpeting is also an environmentally friendly choice. It is naturally biodegradable and the carpet backing is made with recycled materials. Wool can also regulate moisture in the air and absorb indoor pollutants, which helps in creating a safe and healthy home. Finally, wool is naturally flame-resistant.
Nylon Carpets: Masland’s line of nylon carpeting features an extremely wide array of products. There are 141 styles and most of them are available in dozens of colorways. All of Masland’s nylon carpets are constructed in a low loop design for a perfect combination of beauty and utility, and with a variety of pile choices, you’re sure to find a carpet for high-traffic areas or quiet rooms.
The nylon line includes sophisticated neutrals, such as Delray and Panache, subtle patterns, like Bungalow and Tristan, and bold geometrics, including Cervantes and Veritas. While nylon is naturally stain-resistant, many of Maslund’s carpets are made with StainMaster fibers for added durability.
StainMaster: Masland also carry twelve carpet styles, all available in multiple colorways, made from Stainmaster PetProtect nylon fiber. PetProtect is designed to resist pet hair and reduce pet odors. It is easy to clean and color-safe and fade resistant to stand up against pet messes. Stainmaster PetProtect features a breathable moisture barrier to help prevent spills and accidents from penetrating the carpet padding and subfloor.

INSTALLATION
Masland carpet is best installed by professionals. Professional installation can help extend the life of your carpeting and oftentimes is required for many warranty claims.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
When properly cared for and maintained, carpet is one of the best investment’s you can make in your home. Masland recommends starting with preventative maintenance, including using a quality carpet pad, wiping off or removing shoes before walking on the carpet, and using effective window treatments to prevent fading.
Regular vacuuming is the most important thing you can do to prolong the life and beauty of your carpet. Masland recommends that high-traffic areas be vacuumed daily and light-traffic areas to be vacuumed weekly. Be sure to adjust the vacuum to the proper pile height of your carpet for maximum removal of dirt and debris. Masland’s website includes further details on vacuum specifications.
Removing spills and stains promptly also keeps your carpet looking good longer. While wool is naturally stain-resistant and many of Masland’s nylon carpets feature stain-deterring finishes, no carpet is completely stain-proof. The quicker you can attend to a spill, the better. When a liquid spill occurs, blot the area with a plain, white absorbent cloth or paper towel. Do not scrub the area as this can spread the stain. If needed, apply your selected cleaning solution to the spill, working it from the edge of the stain to the center. Repeat the process if necessary and then rinse the area with cold water and blot dry.
Masland recommends having your carpet professional deep-cleaned every 12-18 months depending on your lifestyle and frequency of vacuuming to keep your carpet looking fresh. In fact, professional steam cleaning is required every 12-18 months under certain warranties. Professional cleaning is more powerful than carpet cleaners that are available for rental.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
All Masland products come with a two-year limited repair or replacement warranty, which guarantees that their carpets are free from manufacturing defects. Not adhearing to professional installation and pad quality recommendations will void this warranty.
Masland provides additional warranty coverage for it’s nylon carpet products, including stain-resistant, soil protection, and anti-static limited lifetime warranties, and abrasive wear and texture retention limited 20-year warranties. Further information on these warranties can be found on the company’s website.
Furthermore, many products also carry supplemental warranties from Masland’s yarn manufacturers, including StainMaster.

We are considering a Masland loop carpet but have a cat who claws everything. Would it be better for us to purchase a cut pile carpet from Masland?
