I had never used a floor leveling product before, so it was a big guess on my part to select this product. However, I was really pleased with the way it eventually worked out. I had to work by myself, and I found that I could mix, pour, and finish two bags before it set up too much. That corresponds to about 25 to 30 minutes of working time, and I gather that is about twice as much time as one gets with the LevelQuik RS product.
I used exactly the recommended maximum of 5.75 quarts of water per bag for most of the work, and found that the mixture would self-level only for pour thicknesses greater than about 1/4 of an inch. Below that thickness, one has to screed or otherwise finish the surface in order for it to end up accurately level. I did find that, as advertised, it could be screeded down to a feather edge and it would stay put once that was done (with the surface screeded accurately level). For the thinner work towards the end of the project I tried 6 quarts of water per bag, and I could tell the difference in the self-leveling capability, but there really wasn't a great deal of improvement.
Something to be aware of, if like me you are pouring small areas, is that this material shrinks as it hardens. I suspect that it also true of any of the floor leveling products, but I have experience only with this one. Anyway, if you pour an area bordered by surfaces at some reference height that you are trying to match, when you fill the area to exactly the correct height with the wet material, you will find that when it hardens, the surface will end up slightly below the reference level. This caused me some extra work, but I don't blame the material for not meeting that unusual requirement.
