INSTALLATION

AquaGuard laminate can be installed in an area 4x the size as traditional laminates without the need for transitional moldings, up to 4,300 square feet.

Because AquaGuard laminate is water-resistant, it can be installed in any room of your home, including bathrooms, basements, and laundry rooms. However, it is very important that the subfloor is moisture-free, clean, and level. A vapor barrier is required if you are installing AquaGuard laminate over a concrete subfloor.

Make sure to let the flooring acclimate to the temperature and humidity of the room for at least 24 hours prior to installation and check all planks for defects or blemishes.

AquaGuard laminate does not come with an attached underlayment. Floor & Décor recommends Eco Ultra. Many consumers suggest using a premium underlayment to minimize noise.

When you are ready to install, lay the first row against the wall using spacers. For subsequent rows, click the long side of the plank into the previous row. Drop the plank and gently press downwards with a rubber mallet so the plank so it firmly locks into place. Make sure that the plank is level with the surrounding planks before continuing.

When installing AquaGuard in rooms where the flooring is exposed to moisture, a silicone-based sealant is required around the perimeter to properly protect the floor. Using a sealant around islands, doorways, and other area where the planks have been cut to fit is always a good idea.

Detailed installation instructions can be found on Floor & Décor’s website.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

I installed AquaGuard laminate flooring in my kitchen, playroom and dining room and I couldn’t be more thrilled. We had it professionally installed to make sure the floors were level and we used a premium underlayment. It’s been about a month and no sign from two little boys tossing and banging toys, a dog, moving furniture, contractor traffic, and a minor sink leak. I have real hardwood throughout the rest of my home, and the AquaGuard is definitely more resilient than my true hardwoods. Valerie, WI

We’ve had this product since 2018. We have not had any issues. I flooded our utility room and the water went into the hallway and 2 bedrooms with AquaGuard laminate. I was in panicked, but we quickly cleaned up the water and the floors were fine. They have held up well living out in the country on a dirt road with pets. Janet, PI

We installed AquaGuard laminate in our new home. The main reason that we chose this over other brands was the increased water resistance. We are able to mop this flooring, which was a major plus for us. It has the natural wood texture that we love. The installation can be tricky, but it’s manageable for DIYers. Daniel, MI

Aquaguard laminate is now mostly Aquaguard Performance laminate and hence waterproof, not just water resistant. And AP now has a (nice) built in underlayment or pad. Time to update your review.

Agree…we just had it installed and an underlayment voids warranty for commercial application. Attached underlayment us thick with a unique diamond pattern.
